The SiSProM project has been realized thanks to the funds POR LIGURIA FESR 2014-2020 Asse 1 “Ricerca e Innovazione” Azione 1.2.4. The aim of the project was to develop a multi-site proprioceptive stimulation system to induce the illusory sensation in the handwriting rehabilitation. A vibration over the tendon activates the muscle spindles, and produces the illusion of limb movement in the direction that would elongate the vibrated muscle. The challenge was to stimulate at the same time the four wrist tendons eliciting the sensation of drawing oblique lines or complex figures. The results have been so satisfactory that the project team is already thinking about the future of this prototype. The system was presented to the “Innovation in rehabilitation technologies” workshop the 5th of march 2019 at the Policlinico San Martino di Genova at the presence of the World Federation for NeuroRehabilitation.
Il progetto SiSProM è stato realizzato grazie ai fondi POR LIGURIA FESR 2014-2020 Asse 1 “Ricerca e Innovazione” Azione 1.2.4. Lo scopo del progetto è stato quello di sviluppare un sistema di stimolazione propriocettiva multi-sito per indurre la sensazione illusoria nella riabilitazione della scrittura. Una vibrazione sopra il tendine attiva i fusi muscolari e produce l’illusione del movimento degli arti nella direzione che allungherebbe il muscolo vibrato. La sfida era quella di stimolare allo stesso tempo i quattro tendini del polso suscitando la sensazione di disegnare linee oblique o figure complesse. I risultati sono stati così soddisfacenti che il team di progetto sta già pensando al futuro del prototipo. Il sistema è stato presentato al seminario “Innovazione nelle tecnologie riabilitative” il 5 marzo 2019 presso il Policlinico San Martino di Genova alla presenza della Federazione mondiale per la NeuroRiabilitazione.
